Meet Our New Principal!

Meet Our New Principal!
Updated

Dear Stripling Elementary Families,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Stripling Elementary School. It is truly a privilege to join such a vibrant and caring school community here in GCPS.

From the moment I began learning about Stripling, I was drawn to the strong sense of community and the shared commitment to supporting every student’s growth and success. It is clear that this is a place where students are encouraged to learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging each day.

I am proud to have spent my entire 18-year career in Gwinnett County Public Schools. I began as a high school math teacher at Meadowcreek High School, where I developed a strong foundation in instructional practices and a deep appreciation for student growth. I transitioned into leadership as an Assistant Principal at Berkmar High School and later expanded my experience by supporting grades K-12 at Gwinnett Online Campus, experiences that allowed me to support diverse learners and collaborate with dedicated educators across different settings. For the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving as an Assistant Principal at Jackson Elementary, where I further developed my passion for supporting young learners and building strong school communities. Each of these experiences has shaped my commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered environment where all children can thrive.

My goal is simple: to provide the very best for our students. I am excited to partner with our dedicated staff and supportive families to continue building on the strong foundation that already exists.  I am committed to creating a school environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn each day.

Over the coming weeks, my priority will be to listen and learn about your children, your experiences, and your hopes for our school. Your voice matters, and I welcome your ideas, questions, and feedback as we work together to support every student’s success. I believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential, and I look forward to building meaningful connections with each of you.

Thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful community. I look forward to meeting you soon and to a fantastic future ahead.

With joy and excitement,

Dr. Genna McCurley
